The Steering Committee
Kusawa Park falls within the traditional territory of three First Nations – Carcross/Tagish, Kwanlin Dun, and Champagne and Aishihik First Nations. This means the traditional use, family ties, and cultural stories of three First Nations are inherent in the land. For this reason, the Steering Committee includes a representative from each of those First Nations, and three representatives from the Yukon government.
In addition to the six Steering Committee members, the Steering Committee is supported by a Secretariat and a Facilitator. A Technical Working Group has also been created to provide information and analysis throughout the process. This will assist the Steering Committee in their decision-making.
